How it works

  1. Step 1

    Apply by the 25th

Share a project you built, at a hackathon or on your own, with a short video and a few answers about it.

  2. Step 2

    We read every one

After the round closes, the HackHoster team reviews each application and picks one standout project.

  3. Step 3

    Winner on the 1st

We announce the Project of the Month on the 1st. The whole team gets a badge on their profile.

What we look for

  • It solves a real problem

We love projects that make something easier, faster, or kinder for real people.

  • It works

A live demo or a clear video beats a long list of plans. Show us what it does today.

  • It’s well made

Thoughtful design and solid engineering, whatever the size of the project.

  • The story is clear

Tell us why you built it and what you learned. Honest and specific wins over polished.

Past winners

Our first Project of the Month will be announced November 1, 2026. It could be yours.

Questions

Who can apply?
Anyone with a HackHoster account. You can apply with a project from a HackHoster hackathon or something you built anywhere else.
How many times can I apply?
Once a month. If your project doesn’t win, you can improve it and apply again in a later month. A project that has already won can’t win twice.
Who sees my application?
Only you, the teammates you list, and the HackHoster team. Only the winning project is shown publicly.
Do I need a video?
Yes. A short YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom video where you show the project and explain it. It doesn’t need fancy editing; a screen recording with your voice is great.
What does the winner get?
A Project of the Month badge on every team member’s profile, a spot on this page, and our applause. We’re also preparing a certificate of excellence for winners.
